Engineer of record for $350 million groundbreaking MDF from rice straw facility in Willows, Calif. This first-of-its-kind plant required close cooperation and collaboration between plant ownership, equipment suppliers, fabricators, engineers, and constructors.

  • Areas of responsibility included process, layouts, equipment definition, capital cost estimation, permitting, and construction management.

 

Swiss Krono

Evergreen performed complete facility engineering for a laminated flooring facility in Barnwell, S.C. This installation previously utilized high-density fiberboard purchased from third-party vendors.

  • Performed M&E Balances and provided PFDs before designing and producing installation drawing packages for all major equipment centers.
  • Reviewed equipment engineer’s design for code issues and other standards.

 

Bridge Lane Capital

Evergreen provided engineering design review for a proposed wood pellet facility in White City, Ore. Our review took into account operating, maintenance, and capital costs.

  • Reviewed proposed designs, specifications, and processes to identify any potential items of concern related to feasibility, process-related flow, or operational issues.
  • Made recommendations and outlined industry standards, acting as financer’s engineer.
  • Evaluated design focusing on trade-offs of capital and operational expense.
  • Identified areas to effect least impact on project capital cost while providing maximum return on project performance.

 

FM Global

Evergreen reviewed construction costs, proposals and schedules for repairing and replacing damaged systems at a generating station in Waterflow, N.M. for insurance claim purposes.

  • Reviewed costs to repair or replace damaged mechanical, piping and electrical equipment, cable trays, conduits, and cables.
  • Provided an on-site project manager to review findings with insurer and claimant. Site visits included coordination, progress, cost evaluation, schedule, and reports.
